The seat of India's Democracy

If there is one thing about India that shines through, despite her many contradictions, it is her democracy. We are the largest democracy in the world. And it is here that laws that governing the one and a quarter billion people of India are made. Not by a dictator, or a military junta...but by representatives of the people.

This is India's Parliament building in New Delhi.

A little away is Raisena Hill. To the left is the South Block and to the right North Block. South Block houses the defense ministry, the foreign ministry and the prime minister's office. The North block houses the home ministry and Finance ministries.

Down the road is the president's palace the "Rashtrapati Bhawan"
