Everything Being Done to Protect Citizens from Terror : Indian Home Secretary



After US terror warning, Indian Home Secy says Security Beefed Up

After a meeting with top home ministry officials in New Delhi, India's home secretary V K Duggal has assured citizens that security agencies are geared up to meet any possible threat from terror groups.

' Everything is being done to provide safety and security to the citizens." Duggal told reporters at the Home ministry after the meeting.

He said security agencies are prepared to take on any threat from terrorists.

This comes just hours after the US embassy in Delhi, issued a travel advisor warning US citizens of possible Al Qaeda terror attacks in Delhi and Mumbai between the 11 and 16 of Aaugust.

The U.S. Embassy's warning for India said likely targets include major airports, key government offices, and public places such as hotels and markets. It urged American citizens to maintain a "low profile, and be especially alert and attentive to their surroundings."
