43 schoolgirls killed in SLAF bombing in Mullaithivu says pro-rebel website

Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Kfir bombers Monday morning bombed Chencholai premises in Vallipunam on Paranthan Mullaithivu road, killing at least 43 school girls attending a first-aid course around 7:00 a.m. Monday,the pro-rebel Tamilnet reports.

Chencholai is an orphanage run by the Tamil tiger rebels.

It reports that ambulances were being rushed to the attack site to transfer more than 60 wounded girls to Kilinochchi hospital.

Girls from various schools in the area were attending a first-aid course at Chencholai premises when the attack took place.
