I am a 33 year old journalist based in New Delhi, India. I recently joined the South Asia Bureau of Al Jazeera international. I have been a journalist for over 12 years now. I have a degree in journalism from the University of Delhi and have worked with NDTV, Zee News and Business World before this.
I have served as bureau chief in Chennai and Mumbai for Zee News and was part of the National political bureau at NDTV for over three years.
I love to read. My favorites are Roddy Doyle and Frank Mc Court. I also read about the political history of South Asia. The ethnic situation in Sri Lanka and its historical background are of special interest. I have covered events in Sri Lanka sinve 1999 and follow developments there very closely.
I am working on a book based on the history of the ethnic strife there. It will take some more time before the book is complete. I will soon post some pictures from my last assignment in Sri Lanka. I will also seek to write about the situation there.
Nepal again is an area of interest. I have covered events there since 1998. The current political situation with the ceasefire and the events that unfolded before that promise some very interesting times going ahead. I will also write about my interaction with the main players there.
And last but not the least I love to report on the political, economic and social changes in India. I have done that for over a decade and hope to do so as long as I live.

the one best thing that rajesh knows(there are many others though) is about Sri Lanka. i have heard enough stories about LTTE and his exploits there. Its quite exciting to hear all this from someone who has been there and reported extensively...Sir please continue to post more about Sri lanka and your pet topic, LTTE.
Hi Rajesh... Finally managed to log on to this. Terrific work I must say. Your exploits as a daredevil television journalist and some very interesting friends you've made over the years are awesome. Very well documented facts from history, especially the LTTE stories are quite remarkable. Please keep up this terrific work and keep sharing your enriching experiences.
